Sewage works flight case

Commissioned to design and build a custom flight case for the Ministry of Sewers art installation, this project required the case to function both as a protective transport solution and as part of the exhibition itself.

Constructed from furniture-grade maple plywood, the exterior was stained in the Ministry of Sewers' signature colours. To protect the artwork during transport, we chose a sustainable alternative to foam, creating custom-fitted inserts from layered cardboard upholstered in felt. This provided secure protection while reducing the use of synthetic materials.

The finishing touch was a brushed aluminium plaque on the front of the case, laser-etched with the Ministry of Sewers logo.
